Daniel: Thanks for your email. Hours after I posted the bug message, my computer would not boot to the Kubuntu 20.04 o/s. I determined the culprit was the Nvidia software. I attempted to purge the Nvidia drivers via the terminal, but no success. I was then forced to perform a fresh install of Kubuntu. The fresh install succeeded, with the Nouveau driver. I then installed the Nvidia 390 driver package, via the muon package manager. This succeeded, and I am happy to report the Nvidia 390 driver is properly installed and the nvidia-settings app runs properly. I am very reluctant to again attempt the install of the 450 driver package. The days for downtime and frustration to re-install are simply too great.
