Public bug reported: Release: I tried to update from Kubuntu 18.04 (up-to-date, though I don't know how to tell what version that was) to Kubuntu 20.04.1.
Package version: Unknown. What I expected to happen: Update. What happened instead: The update ended due (it said) to having too many errors. Only firefox and Yakuake (the two programs I had up at the time) worked at all; I was unable to start anything else. I pressed the power button to try and reboot; when it turned back on all I got was a black screen. I was able to type and text appeared on screen but very basic commands like pwd or ls didn't do anything. My files still exist and can be accessed though the live usb I'm currently typing from. I attached the main dist-upgrade log as one of the Ubuntu wiki pages suggested. Thank you. ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "main.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1899446/+attachment/5421218/+files/main.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1899446 Title: errors in update to kubuntu 20.04 leads to unusable installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1899446/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
