I found another workround. >From the command line, run gconf-editor. In the left-hand pane, select apps, then glabels. In the right-hand pane, select default-page-size and change the value from US-Letter to Other. Quit gconf-editor. Start glabels. You shoul dnow be able to use templates based on other page sizes.
