continue to ponder pavucontrol and now udev. my clean install ubuntu 20 lts did not find my built-in audio so i have posted to the bug site hoping you will have previously sorted this. i am guessing udev is not finding sound setup, did not correctly populate alsa and is currently not correctly populating pavucontrol setttings.
i do not want to start editing conf files using pacmd. really wanted a strategy that would automatically repopulate the settings. i am just experienced enough to brick this install...a bad thing. i realize you are sorting out issues for the greater population. ubuntu 20 lts is almost completely functional. i can manually configure gui pavucontrol on each start and go on with life. i have a week's worth of data and config under my belt and do not intend to restore my clone or investigate other flavors linux. the previous 4 years of ubuntu 16 lts was not without its quirks...and the decades of windoze, mac and even in late 80's an ibm pc. i no longer have to deal with vertical market software for the architctural industry and have fully converted all my office apps to libreoffice. i don't want to be a weiner...i am a greyhair, retired and just tired of messing with confusers. hope my comments are useful as you continue to develop ubuntu 20lts. now for something completely different: national lampoon magazine from 1971 subscription ads "you may already be a weiner" and "buy this magazine or we will shoot the dog" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1898072 Title: no sound To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1898072/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
