Public bug reported: On the Ubuntu Studio 20.04.1, it seemed like Swami started but didn't do anything useful. None of the features worked. When started in the console, these errors printed out:
``` (swami:26894): libswamigui-CRITICAL **: 16:49:15.025: Failed to load UI XML file 'share/swami/swami-2.ui': Failed to open file “share/swami/swami-2.ui”: No such file or directory (swami:26894): libswamigui-CRITICAL **: 16:49:15.025: Failed to load UI interface 'SwamiguiSplits': Failed to open file “share/swami/swami-2.ui”: No such file or directory ``` I can fix this problem with the following workaround: ``` cd /usr/ swami ``` My guess: Swami is having a path-related problem. It may be relying on a current working directory or set of paths that is different than expected. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Release: 20.04 $ apt-cache policy swami swami: Installed: 2.2.0-2 Candidate: 2.2.0-2 Version table: *** 2.2.0-2 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I do not recall if Swami came pre-installed or not with Ubuntu Studio 20.04.1. ** Affects: swami (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "screenshot of startup screen, which looks way too blank." https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1897352/+attachment/5414371/+files/swami_screenshot.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1897352 Title: on startup: failed to load swami-2.ui (ubuntu studio 20.04.1) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/swami/+bug/1897352/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
