I installed linux-oem-20.04 and also turned on focal-proposed updates
and did apt-get update && apt-get upgrade.

Though -- this was only enough to get it to recognize the speaker.  The
pitch/video speed is still wrong, so it's not really quite usable.

I should correct something I said earlier: video playback is just too
fast across the board, e.g. on Youtube it's playing at maybe double the
speed and the pitch is high.  However, even when I slow the playback
speed down to normal (by selecting 0.5x speed) the pitch is *still* too
high.

I suspect the wrong driver is being used for the sound card.  It is
still detecting "00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation
Device 02c8" instead of the Realtek card.
