Public bug reported:

I can't install Maple 9.5 on 6.10 Knot 3 (works with 6.06). I used these
instructions (not knowing of their existance, but I found them when I
looked for a solution of my problem):
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Maple

I get these these error messages:
---------------------
$ sudo sh ./installMapleLinuxSU

libc6, libc6-i686 are installed and the files which are "not accessible"
are located at /lib and /usr/lib. They also appear when I do "ldconfig
-v". These programs (basename, dirname, hostname usw.) work when I call
them directly.

Do I need a compat package? What can I try else?
