> We can't debug or support a boot entry that we can't examine.

I can understand that. I do hope that this "Linpus Lite" is a corner
case. Otherwise, if this kind of USB boot systems will get common in
UEFI mode, Ubuntu will have severe problems.

> When you say AHCI, do you mean UEFI? AHCI has no relevance to USB
boot.

I mean AHCI and I know that it should have no relevance to USB boot. I
mentioned it because it was the only thing in the UEFI/BIOS system, that
was modified by a user (before this debugging started).

-o-

I have spent hours to search for and test various options in the
UEFI/BIOS menu system, but no, I find no way to directly select the USB
drive for booting under UEFI after firmware upgrade, instead of using
the 'Linpus Lite' boot option.

Personally, I don't mind using BIOS mode alias CSM alias legacy mode.
And during 5 years, I can install Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS via this 'Linpus
Lite' boot option and get a system with security updates and that way
dual boot with the original Windows 10 system in UEFI mode. So I won't
push this issue further. Thanks for trying to help, Steve.
