Public bug reported: Hi,
after the latest update to mutter, gnome-shell is constantly resetting font-scaling after reboot. All programs scale fine, even nautilus, it's just the shell ui that is being reset. I get this bug in 2 different ubuntu installations on 2 different pcs. I use gnome-tweak-tool to set font scaling to 1.25, everything was working ok until latest mutter update a few days ago. After reboot, gnome shell scaling is reset to 1.00 (thought I still see 1.25 as value in gnome- tweak). It is a very annoying bug for a hidpi screen, expecially because fractional scaling is still too unstable to use. But adjusting fonts was just fine, until a few days ago.
