Hi Fr Ch, I seem to have managed to fix the problem by using Gutsy's 386 kernel. Still, this is not an ideal solution for me as I am now unable to use both of my CPU cores.
The bug we're discussing here seems to be quite rare. I've looked around a bit and I have found no reports of a similar problem.
