Hi,
I have installed and tested the new kernel 2.6.24-1 released as test.
In attach you have kernel.log & dmesg.
All seams to function very well. ACPI doesn't hang the boot process and the CPU
is correctly scaled, too.

The problem is that these new alpha kernel/source are build with a new
gcc compiler, so I can't build, for example, Nvidia driver.

I have made a full backup of my filesystem in order to roolback if necessary ,
then I'll try a dist-upgrade in order to have the new gcc / libc-dev.
Let me know if there is a best procedure to install only the new gcc and if you
need more tests from me ;-)

Best regards
