Ah sorry, I checked with the github version again on 5.4.0-40-generic
and it still happens. I'll update there too. I think it was better on
old kernel versions, i.e, it didn't bring the whole system down on
hibernate etc.

** Description changed:

  Release is mint 20, Ubuntu 20.04.
  Version of the package is 5.5.2.1-0ubuntu3.
  The machine should not freeze and not even accept sysreq input. The driver 
should not crash.
- The machine freezes on hibernate randomly, disconnects randomly from PEAP/EAP 
networks. This does not happen with the driver version from 
https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce
