The problem is still present but the crashes are less frequent. This morning the crash happened with firefox as the only running program. I have installed opera as web browser to see if the problem presents also with this (hence meaning a possibile problem in the plugins). If opera work fine I'll come back to firefox and I'll disable the desktop effect (incompatibility among compiz-fusion and firefox 2.0.0.11?).
