(In reply to mail from comment #5) If you open about:support, what does "Compositing" say? It is normal that the Basic compositor (software rendering) shows tearing. Please open about:config, set gfx.webrender.all to true and restart Firefox to enable OpenGL rendering. WebRender is in the process of becoming enabled by default on Linux.
