The problem is in part due to a bug in LXD, now fixed in edge: https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/7617 https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/7619 https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/7622
but this is not enough to get the lxd cloud_tests working again, as now the rootfs is exported as a .squashfs file and not as a tarball.
