For troubleshooting, I have tried using a fixed BSSID, as proposed in
(https://blogs.gnome.org/dcbw/2016/05/16/networkmanager-and-wifi-
scans/), but the issue persists. While the BSSID is static, I still get
the sporadic disconnect, but there is no automatic re-connect. In fact,
there is no re-connect until I perform a manual wifi-scan, at which
point the network connection gets re-established.

I also tried disabling the NetworkManager as proposed here
(https://askubuntu.com/questions/230660/disabling-network-manager-gnome-
wireless-scanning-when-connected), but it did not help and just made the
desktop much buggier.

Please, let me know if there is any other information I should provide
to help resolve this bug. Thanks.
