I tried what "Xandor Schiefer (zeorin)" stated. But 5.4.0-31-generic
couldn't be booted. Then tried recovery mode for 5.4.0-31-generic - it
worked with lower resolution. Then tried log in using 5.4.0-31-generic
but no success.

Well it has nothing to do with power cable as i am on desktop. I have the most 
updated BIOS for my Dell XPS 8930. Don't know what could be the issue but it's 
just not working for me. I have posted my original question here:
