Public bug reported: file-roller 3.36.2, Copyright © 2001-2012 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
on 5.4.0-31-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 7 20:20:34 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux When file-roller extracts a directory to a nearly fill media it stops with a generic message 'An error occurred while extracting files.' During the attempt to extract the files a temporary directory was created on the target medium (the directory is obscured by prefixing with .fr-). When clicking close the temporary directory is not cleaned up. And a subsequent attempt will create another temporary folder. So instead of informing the user that the target media is full file- roller fills the media with more 'junk' suggested solution: #1 cleanup tmp upon failure, #2 inform user of media-full reason. ** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880559 Title: file roller not cleaning up temp files upon (disk full) failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-roller/+bug/1880559/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
