Public bug reported: I have a couple of backups, over ssh, to a machine which is not accessible 24/7. Since upgrading my system to 20.04 from 18.04, the included version of backintime-qt, presumably checking the integrity of settings, closes the backup settings dialog but does not save any changes made (without warning) to *any* profile, if the remote host on other profiles are not up; it works fine when they are up.
The old version would complain about remote hosts being unavailable, but still allowed changes to be saved. This means I cannot change my local backup settings without first turning other computers on unnecessarily! Ideally I should be able to make changes to remote system profiles, too, even if they are down at that time. -- Description: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Release: 20.04 backintime-qt: Installed: 1.2.1-2 Candidate: 1.2.1-2 Version table: *** 1.2.1-2 500 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: backintime (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879136 Title: Can't save preferences when remote machines unavailable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/backintime/+bug/1879136/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
