Unfortunately it seems to still be producing the same issue as before on the latest kernel. Is it possible for this to be hardware failure? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense as the issue persist even when reconnecting the device and it works fine with a reboot. I've also noticed that it most commonly occurs when something tries to start playing audio.
