After getting these lockups for a while, there seems to be a pattern: it happens most often when the laptop is running on batteries. So it may not be related to the video driver after all.
Is there someone who could let me know what can be done to generate some sort of report when this occurs, maybe a core dump or something. It's not something I've ever done so I am not sure how to proceed. On the other hand I have done some programming and I can read instructions.
