dpkg -l 'samba*' ran on the affected system? I can't reproduce the problem, so I'd like to see which arch you are using and the exact versions of all the samba* packages. Does it crash if you just run 'testparm' manually? I'm marking this report as Incomplete for the moment. Please change the status back to New after commenting back.
