Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wpasupplicant

I have in my /etc/network/interfaces:

iface eth1 inet manual
        wpa-driver wext
        wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf.benh
        wpa-action /etc/wpa_supplicant/dhclient

worked fine with dapper (well, sort-of, it didn't launch dhclient, I had
to do that by hand). now, with edgy (ppc) wpa_supplicant isn't launched
automatically at all. It works if I launch it manually and then dhclient
though.

(The interface is my internal bcm43xx with 2.6.18 kernel and some
patches to fix softmac races that I'm testing. That same setup works
with dapper as explained).

BTW. Not directly related, but it's time for that gnome network setup
frontend to add some WPA support ...
