It looks like your system is using the nvidia kernel driver with the
modeset Xorg driver. I'm unsure it's installed properly...

Please try uninstalling the Nvidia driver and then reinstall it via the
'Additional Drivers' application. Now reboot and if the problem persists
then run:

  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.
