Public bug reported:
affects ubuntu
Hi,
I'd like to place a bug report on a fresh Ubuntu 20.04 install.
Description:
When logging into a gnome-session-flashback session after the timed
screen lock kicked in, the desktop does not initialize again.
You basically get the background screen with nothing on it.
Changing the workspaces with CTRL+LEFT or CTRL+RIGHT displays the 4
miniature desktops and does the changing animation but the desktop
itself does not do anything. Logging into the pc via console tty
CTRL+ALT+F3 and rebooting is the only option to get out of this situation.
How to reproduce the bug:
1. I'm using a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04 and start a session with
gnome-session-flashback as desktop
2. I'm leaving the session alone until the screen locks kicks in after 5
minutes.
3. I'm logging in again.
Additional information:
When using the keyboard shortcut to lock the screen WINDOWS+L and
logging in again afterwards, the desktop does initialize again as expected.
Regards,
Patrick Menschel
