I've also tested riverfr0zen's tip now, and it does not cure the problem for me (both for general use or full-screen movie playback).
What it does seem to have done is extend the screen blank time from 10 to 20 minutes, which is a slight improvement, and my screensaver kicks in after 5 mins as intended. I also uninstalled xserver-xgl to check, and the problem went away. I reinstalled it to test river's tip and the problem came back. What with this irritation and the trouble getting my projector to work with Gutsy, I think the future of Ubuntu for me is a trip back to Feisty where no problems existed. -- Screen blanks after ten minutes when watching video in Mplayer with XGL and Compiz Fusion turned on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
