I've just experienced this for the first time in Ubuntu 20.04 official release. I did a fresh install of 20.04 on a system I had been running 19.10 on without ever experiencing this issue. I am running the proprietary NVidia driver with a GT 1030 card, not using the built-in graphics in my Celeron 4900.
