Public bug reported:

Resolved upstream bug-report - https://gitlab.com/vala-panel-project
/vala-panel/-/issues/113#note_323453115

Ubuntu 20.04, vala-panel from repository (version 0.4.91+dfsg1-2). Panel
crashes when you try to remove Panel Items. Tested on XFCE4 session and
GNOME X session.

Steps to Reproduce

1) Launch vala-panel from terminal
2) Right click on panel > "Panel Items" - "Applets"
3) Try to remove any applet
4) Panel will crash

It's possible to add items (like "AppMenu Plugin") but removal, at least
for me, only doable via config editing.

Please include patch from upstream.
