I am having this problem (only dummy output) on ubuntu 19.10 with linux kernel 5.3.0.45.38. After booting I can make the output show up and work by running pulseaudio -k && sudo alsa force-reload Maybe that workaround helps other people suffering from this problem until a fix is available.
