Thanks Andreas that duplication check is exactly what I'd have done now.
I agree that given the conditions we should try to make a full switch.

For nginx that is a change in d/control for binary package: nginx-core.
Could you prep an MP, link it here and ask Teward to review it?

Yes, for python3-geoip 
The history of this goes back to 2005 and it was never re-evaluated.
I think we can switch in the seeds to the newer implementation.
Could you open an MP for that as well please and link it here?
Please add a review slot for desktop-team and ping someone (as it is listed for 
them).
Also add a review slot for Steve, back in the day it seems cjwatson did the 
initial addition, but that seems more seed restructuring than anything.
Having those two agree would be great to go forward.
