Public bug reported: Hello!
I've downloaded the Ubuntu Server Edition from the ubuntu website and if I do a md5sum I get the following: $ md5sum ubuntu-7.10-server-i386.iso 7d88cd87df509a740d9f47b9bbf1375e ubuntu-7.10-server-i386.iso I've checked in the https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes and hash seams to be ok. Then I've unpacked the file to a local directory and then I tried a integrity check on the unpacked files and I got some errors. Here it's the log: $ md5sum -c md5sum. txt | grep -v 'OK$' md5sum: ./install/netboot/pxelinux.cfg/default: Not a directory ./install/netboot/pxelinux.cfg/default: FAILED open or read ./install/netboot/pxelinux.0: FAILED md5sum: ./pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22/nic- restricted-firmware-2.6.22-14-generic-di_2.6.22.4-14.9_i386.udeb: No such file or directory md5sum: ./pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22/linux- restricted-modules-2.6.22-14-generic_2.6.22.4-14.9_i386.deb: No such file or directory ./pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22/nic-restricted- firmware-2.6.22-14-generic-di_2.6.22.4-14.9_i386.udeb: FAILED open or read ./pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22/linux-restricted- modules-2.6.22-14-generic_2.6.22.4-14.9_i386.deb: FAILED open or read md5sum: ./pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22/nic- restricted-modules-2.6.22-14-generic-di_2.6.22.4-14.9_i386.udeb: No such file or directory ./pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22/nic-restricted- modules-2.6.22-14-generic-di_2.6.22.4-14.9_i386.udeb: FAILED open or read md5sum: ./pool/main/l/linux-source-2.6.22/pcmcia-storage- modules-2.6.22-14-generic-di_2.6.22-14.46_i386.udeb: No such file or directory ./pool/main/l/linux-source-2.6.22/pcmcia-storage-modules-2.6.22-14 -generic-di_2.6.22-14.46_i386.udeb: FAILED open or read md5sum: ./pool/main/l/linux-source-2.6.22/firewire-core- modules-2.6.22-14-generic-di_2.6.22-14.46_i386.udeb: No such file or directory ./pool/main/l/linux-source-2.6.22/firewire-core-modules-2.6.22-14 -generic-di_2.6.22-14.46_i386.udeb: FAILED open or read md5sum: WARNING: 6 of 1182 listed files could not be read md5sum: WARNING: 1 of 1176 computed checksums did NOT match Since the ISO seams to be ok, and unpacking the iso to a local directory shouldn't corrupt the files, I believe that the file "ubuntu-7.10-server-i386.iso" is bad! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Bugs in ubuntu-7.10-server-i386.iso https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173040 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
