Those files are obsolete, and I don't think they are used at all nowadays. The languages installable via language-selector are simply the languages with language packs. Once you have translated a sufficient number of strings (see the comments on bug #1860779), the language packs can be created, and then Kabyle will automatically be added to language- selector's "Installed Languages" window.
The localechooser package carries a languagelist file which - contrary to the language-selector one - is in use. It lists the languages which can be chosen when installing Ubuntu. However, it wouldn't make sense to offer the users Kabyle in the installer before the language packs have been created. ** Changed in: language-selector (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1860977 Title: Kabyle language missing in language-selector To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-selector/+bug/1860977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
