the summary above is to my best technical understanding.
"oneko" draws an animated cat chasing the mouse pointer. the cat has an
animated shape and i believe that it technically is handled as some kind
of window - tell me if i'm wrong.
when using compiz the shape of the cat is not updated, it keeps the
shape as after startup, only the contents are updated and don't match
the shape.
