When installing 'mono-devel' from the default repositories of ppc64le/ubuntu:18.04 with apt, core dumps are generated with no obvious errors in the terminal's output. These core dumps do not occur in the x86-64 version of ubuntu:18.04 (x86-64). Mono runtime appears to be functioning despite evidence something went wrong during package deployment. Attached is the terminal output and commands to reproduce in Docker. # lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS Release: 18.04 # apt-cache policy mono-devel mono-devel: Installed: 4.6.2.7+dfsg-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 4.6.2.7+dfsg-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 4.6.2.7+dfsg-1ubuntu1 500 500 http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports bionic/universe ppc64el Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: mono (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "terminal with commands issued and output" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1852870/+attachment/5305943/+files/ubuntu-1804ppc64le-mono-devel.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1852870 Title: core dumps when installing mono-devel in ppc64le/ubuntu:18.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mono/+bug/1852870/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
