If you have a PS/2 port and an adapter you could try that also. If the
keyboard works in the BIOS setup (before grub starts) it seems to be a
problem in grub, yes.
After Gutsy has booted, the kernel talks directly to the USB ports
without any BIOS, but grub has to rely on the BIOS for keyboard input.
Did it work fine in Feisty?
