How can I reproduce the problem? I tried the following using a clean chroot:
1) I removed the "restricted" section from my /etc/apt/sources.list, and updated the apt-cache (or installing 418 it would be impossible) 2) I installed the 418 driver (using the nvidia-driver-418 metapackage). It is the 418.74-0ubuntu0~18.04.1 version which I copied from ppa:oem-solutions-group/nvidia-driver-staging into the following PPA, for easy access (since it was superseded in the original PPA): https://launchpad.net/~albertomilone/+archive/ubuntu/nvidia-select 3) I re-added the "restricted" section in my /etc/apt/sources.list, and updated the apt-cache. 4) I did a dist-upgrade, and I could not reproduce the problem, since the upgrade from 418 to 430 went smoothly. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-430 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847979 Title: package xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-430 430.26-0ubuntu0.18.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-nvidia.conf', which is also in package xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-418 418.74-0ubuntu0~18.04.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-430/+bug/1847979/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
