Well, actually it's pretty easy. Just add a dependency on timidity.
Timidity currently automatically installs a root process which listens
for MIDI events.

What would be really cool if it could be arranged that the default port
for vkeybd would be 128:0. It took me a long time to discover that I had
to run "vkeybd --addr 128:0" in order for it to work, since I really
don't understand those ALSA midi ports. But if the default would be
128:0, then even complete MIDI ignorants like me would be able to do
"sudo apt-get vkeybd; vkeybd" and start playing.
