For the record this happens when choosing use "Erase disk and install Ubuntu", not in an advanced partitioning screen. Attached you'll find a screenshot of issue with the install media as the default destination. Although it might be because I used the following "kvm -m 4096 -boot d -hda /misc/isos/ubuntu/eoan-desktop-amd64.iso -hdb /srv/vms/eoan.qemu".
