On my system in the installer logs I have:

syslog:Jan 16 02:37:41 kernel: [    0.000000] OPAL nvram setup, 589824 bytes
syslog:Jan 16 02:37:41 kernel: [    0.512030] pstore: Registered nvram as 
persistent store backend

and in your logs I see:

Sep 13 08:40:03 kernel: [    0.000000] PPC64 nvram contains 15360 bytes
Sep 13 08:40:03 kernel: [    0.080441] pstore: Registered nvram as persistent 
store backend

If your system is some sort of a PowerVM system? I don't think we
support that anymore.
