Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: debian-installer
The Ubuntu installer failed on my system. As y was testing the live
CD y mounted the future root partition. I forgot to umount it and ran
the Ubuntu installer, it failed. When I realized the mounted partition y
retried and worked great.
While is not the most common case and 1)a new user most probably
would not mount anything and 2) a experienced user would not leave the
partition mounted and install; I *think* that the installer *should*
check if the partitions that it is going to change are mounted.
** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
