When installing, at the "Installation type" page of the installer, choosing " Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 8" results in the partitioner automatically choosing to use sdd as the drive. There is no option to select sda or sdc. Only has one item the "Selec drive" dropdown list. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. In the computer more the one drive need. I have one external hdd, and two external pendrive(one data, one installer) 2. Start the computer from the Ubuntu installer pendrive 2. Choose install now 3. at the "Installation type" page, choose "Install alongside Windows 8" and click Continue 4. attempt to change drive My system have 3 disk: - sda (the laptop SSD, two partition with Windows 8) - sdb (the installer pendrive) - sdc (the external USB HDD) - sdd (the external pendrive) Here the example screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/PurRNph Only one item in the drive selector.
