I gave up a while ago and installed the latest version from sourceforge I just installed 2.5.0.4-1ubuntu3~gutsy1 :
dpkg -l | grep azureus ii azureus 2.5.0.4-1ubuntu3~gutsy1 BitTorrent client all seems good so far - though I havn't been trying it for long.
