Thank you for the debdiff. As asis is building libasis-dev, I'd much prefer a patch to the build system that used the internal implementation to meet the build dependency, rather than build-depending on the last version of the package. I'm not certain that the proposed solution will continue to work properly if asis is upgraded to a new upstream version. If this doesn't prove possible, it may be required to bootstrap, but I suspect it would benefit from some API test or double-build to ensure that the released asis-programs is compiled against the internal libasis-dev, rather than the one used for the bootstrap.
