I could not determine anything useful. When copying the text, it appears to go onto the clipboard as plain text. I also tried pasting into OpenOffice Writer using both the regular paste function as well as Edit > Paste Special. Paste Special should show the formats which the content of the clipboard can pasted, and only plain text is listed.
So this is only affecting me? I'm the only one who can crash Pidgin by copying and pasting the contents of an Amazon.com page? Odd.
