Not sure if this is the same problem I'm seeing, but if it is, it might
be widespread. I've seen it on two systems so far. However, I'd say the
problem must be in Firefox, since I'm able to work with other programs
such as terminal (where top showed nothing obviously unusual--Firefox
was *NOT* claiming cycles) while Firefox is messed up. I'm wondering if
it might be related to the Firefox plugin NoScript. Unfortunately, I
have no idea of how to diagnose the problem--but if it gets much worse,
it may drive me back to Windows for a while...
