Same problem, my monitor is LG-L194WT-SF and fresh Gutsy installation. However, I managed to get correct resolution with following config: --- Section "Monitor" Identifier "L194WT" Vendorname "Plug 'n' Play" Option "DPMS" Option "DDC" "false" Modeline "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" 108.84 1440 1472 1880 1912 900 918 927 946 EndSection --- also set virtual 1440 900 in screen section
NOTE: kdm (using kubuntu) still boots with resolution 1280 x something and when kde has started I use either "xrandr --output VGA --mode [EMAIL PROTECTED]" or KDE's display settings to increase resolution to 1440x900 resolution is correct. KDE displaysettings tool seems to save information. Still, don't have a glue why X won't start with correct resolution. Attached tarball with: xorg.log when 1440x900 was distorted xorg.log when initial resolution was wrong but fixed with xrandr edid information ddcprobe output lspci -vvnn output ** Attachment added: "Xorg logs and info" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10470844/logs_and_information.tar.gz -- Distorted screen at 60hz, 1440x900: 20% black screen and wrong aspect ratio on intel X3000 (g965) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
