On fully updated Gutsy, reproduceable every time : If (and only if) SCIM Anthy is on, then the following crashes Thunderbird: - Creating a new message - Saving a message - Opening a draft - Opening an received email (inbox) - Creating a subfolder - Opening the addressbook - Opening "Help>About" - I haven't tried everything, but pretty much everything
Example of the "Help>About": the "About" pop-up window appears quickly, grey and empty, and Thunderbird crashes immediately. No visible effect on SCIM. A workaround is obviously to turn SCIM off whenever performing a Thunderbird action other than edition.
