Just to report the situation has gotten worse with Disco Dingo, now i7-6850 will not overclock even with microcode purged. Further, I have determined it is NOT a kernel issue because it will not overclock on the old kernel either. So I have no idea what Canonical has done but I'm NOT a happy camper.
