Public bug reported:

Hi, first of all I know this is not new with the NVIDIA proprietary
graphics driver, but this is different than the usual, and let me
explain why

The machine that experienced this issue has an SSH connection opened,
and during the lockup, I'm not able to login, neither sysrq-keys are
working, and checking the dmesg log at the reboot didn't give any error
output than the usual

Basically, the overall desktop freezes, doesn't seem display driver
related, because in this case I'm able to login via SSH and check the
dmesg, which gives some NVRM errors.

Before the lockup the only thing I heard was the CPU and case fan
spinning up a bit.

To be clear, I'm not new to this lockups at all, some are coming from
the NVIDIA driver crashing, other times like this one look totally
different.

The reproduceability is completely random, happened twice since the start of
the month. My workflow is still the same, some common apps I have installed I
use frequently are:
Discord, Firefox, Lutris with some wine games, Steam, Steam Games, Telegram,
Spotify, Olive-Editor, KDEnlive.

I'm running Ubuntu 19.04, the machine has an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, GTX
NVIDIA 1060 3GB, 2x4GB dual channel DDR4 HyperX RAM, Crucial MX 500 SSD,
MSI b350m mortar motherboard.

The other time that happened, always not NVIDIA-driver related (or so I think)
the only thing different from that the dmesg log from /var/log/kern.log, were
just a bunch of "@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@" characters printed in before the
next PC startup.
No NVIDIA mentions, looks like a normal dmesg without any errors except this.

Still, even in that occasion, sysrq keys or SSH access was not working,
instead, I repeat, when the NVIDIA driver crashes I'm able to do that.

I don't know if that's related to some kernel panic, I'll be sure to
install kdump in the future
