Public bug reported: System monitor shows these values on its "Resources" page:
User memory: 290.3 MB of 503.7 MB Used swap: 257.5 MB of 517.7 MB but on the "Processes" page I see (when I sort records on the Memory column descending): 7.7 MB 5.4 MB 4.1 MB 3.1 MB 2.8 MB 1.9 MB 1.4 MB 1.3 MB 1.1 MB 989.9 KB 965.2 KB 769.3 KB 704.9 KB 700.0 KB 629.2 KB 535.0 KB 421.6 KB 396.0 KB 389.2 KB 369.1 KB 348.0 KB 342.1 KB 340.2 KB 340.0 KB 240.0 KB 192.9 KB 112.0 KB 96.2 KB 32.0 KB 916 B 916 B 0 B 0 B 0 B ... so its sum is about 37.51 MB. So one of these values must be very wrong. This situation is seen after Firefox and LinuxDC++ was running and then closed. Maybe some allocated memory was not properly put back? --- command line "free" shows this result: # free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 515820 509224 6596 0 8420 221696 -/+ buffers/cache: 279108 236712 Swap: 530104 277480 252624 --- ~# uname -a Linux artwines 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- system monitor shows significantly incorrect memory usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
